Location, Location, Location...

Alex Rodriguez continued his hot start last night, hitting 2 home runs in the Yankees 7-6 loss to the Red Sox. He's hitting every pitch like it's a beach ball. It doesn't even seem to matter where the pitch location is. Unfortunately for Mariano Rivera, it mattered a lot where his pitch location was last night. Mo gave up 3 runs in the 8th inning, including a 2-run triple to, of all people, Coco Crisp.

Part of Rivera's problem is the way the Yankees have been winning so far this year. It's either been a blow-out or a comeback win. As a result, Rivera hasn't had a lot of work so far this year, just 2 save opportunities, both of which he's blown.

So game 1 goes to the Red Sox. If you're a Red Sox fan, you have to like the pitching matchups for the 2 remaining games of the series, along with the fact that Papelbon will be rested and ready to go. They'll look really bad if they don't win these two games. The pressure's on them.
