Summer Saturday Ladybugs #4

Boston's David Ortiz is being sued $1 million by Steiner Sports for breach of contract. They're saying he didn't sign the minimum number of autographs required, he didn't sign autographs for them exclusively and he didn't make the required number of public appearances for them. Hey, Steiner Sports, have you seen Big Papi's ESPN commercial? You ought to be thankful those spit-laden hands weren't around a lot.

Supposedly, the Yankees rookie reliever Edwar Ramirez was in tears last night after he walked the ballpark and gave up a grand-slam. The crying game started during an interview the kid was giving, and team officials had to end it abruptly. Brian Cashman, are you thinking what I'm thinking? That this might be why the Angels released Edwar Ramirez?

Jason Giambi took batting practice today! He took bp for the first time since going on the DL earlier this season. Giambi hopes to be back with the Yankees early next month. Yeah, just in time to be hounded by the media wanting to know what he told George Mitchell.

The Devil Rays are talking to the Yankees about acquiring Scott Proctor, but they'll take Kyle Farnsworth if the Yankees pay part of his salary. Reports say the Yankees refuse to do this. Let's see: they were willing to waste money on Kei Igawa but they're not willing to do what it takes to get rid of Farnsworth. Great. Just great.

Enjoy the weekend!
