Kei Igawa Mystery Solved?

The Yankees are now 2-3 after losing their second straight game to the Tampa Bay Rays. What's wrong with the Yankees? Nothing. No mysteries to solve.

Kei Igawa's first outing of the season for AAA Scranton-Wilkes Barre was this past Thursday. Igawa was outstanding, something he never has been in the Majors. Why? What is wrong with Kei Igawa? Saber-Scouting published a detailed analysis of Igawa today, taking an extensive look at the lefthander's arm speed, stride length, front leg and pie throwing? Pie throwing? I've never heard of that before, but apparently it's scouting jargon. A "pie thrower" is a pitcher who has his palm somewhat under the ball rather than on top."

If you like all that technical, statistical, saber stuff, check it out. It'll be a good read. I, myself, usually tend to skip over things like that. I'd be more interested if Igawa was throwing actual pies on the mound.

Anyway, the Yankees may end up having to cut their losses with Igawa if he doesn't come around this season.
