If CC, AJ And D-Lowe Are No-Gos

CC Sabathia, AJ Burnett and Derek Lowe. How terrible would it be if the Yankees were unable to sign even one of them?

You know how I feel about CC Sabathia. I hope he gets a chance to swing the bat every five days for some NL team on the West Coast. Let them suffer the effects of the 253 innings he pitched in 2008, including around 140 pitches in nine of those innings.

The Yankees seem reluctant to offer Burnett more than 4 years. Why bother with this posturing, Cashman? You know you'll throw in that fifth year if the Red Sox make him an offer.

Derek Lowe is a Scott Boras client. Good pitcher, but not worth the Boras hassle. I'd give him a 3 year deal. I doubt Boras will settle for that.

I can envision a rotation like this: 1. Wang, 2. Burnett, 3. Joba, 4. Pettitte, 5. Hughes/Aceves.

Let's see how it all plays out.

You do realize that there are other free agent pitchers. If they fail at getting Lowe and CC they may go after Sheets or Penny or Garland. If they don't get these guys it's not the end of the world.

Yes, but I wouldn't go after Sheets. His being injury-prone scares me!

And AJ Burnett is the model of health?

The lesser of two evils, I guess, lol!
