Sabathia Should Listen To Pettitte

Bryan Hoch has a great article up at MLB.com about how today's players incorporate nutrition into the routines that maintain their careers. Andy Pettitte is quoted in the article:

"With the money that you make, you just owe it to everybody -- not only to yourself, but to your team and to your organization -- to take care of yourself. And if you're carrying around more weight than you should, you're probably going to have a hard time."

Now, Pettitte wasn't talking specifically about CC Sabathia. Before that quote, he gave kudos to his teammate Alex Rodriguez for his nutrition habits, so Sabathia was probably the furthest thing from Pettitte's mind. (I think) It's kind of ironic. Here's Andy Pettitte being ignored (seemingly) by the Yankees as they pursue 290 llb CC Sabathia, then he's saying fat players will be a hindrance to their teams. Coincidence? Maybe not. [Thanks, WasWatching.com]

I think it's a good point to keep in mind, but I think that even with a six year deal, Sabathia is young enough that it's not a major concern. Yet.
