Bill Madden of the New York Daily News is reporting that Rafael Soriano has a bad attitude and "was hated by almost everyone in Tampa Bay last year." Madden says Soriano didn't like being brought into games in non-save situations or having to pitch more than one inning in a game.
Will this be a problem for the Yankees or will Soriano tow the line for the Yankees like so many other troubled players have done once they put on the pinstripes? We'll have to wait and see, of course. But it looks like the Yankees have prepared themselves for the worst just in case, by giving Soriano two opt out clauses and by not giving him a no-trade clause. If he opts out, they'll get their draft pick back. If they want to trade him, it can be to any team.
Hopefully his three-year deal will be a successful one, free of opt outs and trades. Good luck, Rafael Soriano.

Poll Result: Pettitte Will Play
The results are in. In an LATB poll which asked whether Andy Pettitte will play or retire in 2011, Lady At The Bat readers made their voices heard. Of those who voted, 63% said that Andy will play, 37% said he would retire. No one answered "Don't Know." Pretty definite opinions.
Still no announcement from Pettitte. The wait continues...

Today is January 10, 2011 and we still have not heard from Andy Pettitte. What will he do? Retire or play? I've decided to take a poll to see what you all think.
The poll is on the top of the left sidebar of the blog. Voting ends on 1/17/11. Don't be shy. Let me know what you think!
