Darvish Won But Kuroda Showed Us Something, Too

As last night's Yankees-Rangers game unfolded, it became clear that the previous night's win was big. It becomes even bigger when you look ahead to tonight's finale, which Phil Hughes is scheduled to pitch.

Yu Darvish looked like the best pitcher in baseball last night. Hiroki Kuroda didn't but, he had a good outing, a quality start against the best team in baseball. As catcher Russell Martin told him after the game, "We can do that all year long, and we'll be just fine." [Yankees.com]

The key phrase here is "all  year long." Kuroda has pitched well every other start so far. Consistency by Kuroda will go a long way in strengthening this Yankee rotation. Last night's start and the Opening Day start against the Angels pretty much proves he can pitch in the American League.  Now do it all year long, Hiroki, so we can all be just fine.
