I don't even know where to begin. I wake up yesterday morning and all is well in Yankees Universe. By the end of the day, two-fifths of the rotation, the best two-fifths, is on the DL.
I guess all I can do, all anyone can do at this point, is ask questions, questions that cannot be answered right now:
* Can the Yankees remain atop, or close to the top of the AL East while Sabathia and Pettitte are on the shelf?
* Will Adam Warren be at least a serviceable pitcher for the Yankees?
* Will Freddy Garcia pitch as well as he's pitched lately, or will he revert back to his early-season horror show?
* Will the Yankees have to go out and get a starting pitcher?
* Can the offense make up for the drop-off in starting pitching?
* What if Sabathia misses more than 2 starts?
* What if Pettitte's recovery takes longer than 6-8 weeks?
* What if another pitcher goes down?
I can't be alone in wishing the answers to these questions were clear. But they are not at this point. For now, it's a waiting game. We wait to see what will happen.
Hurry back, guys.
