"Over the last full turn through the rotation since June 1, [Yankees] starters have fared 4-0 with a 1.64 ERA -- including a season-high 22 consecutive scoreless innings that bled into the eighth on Wednesday."
The Yankees starters have been on a roll this month and Ivan Nova kept the ball rolling last night with his 8-inning 1-run performance against the Rays, leading the Yankees to a 4-1 win over Tampa Bay.
I have to admit that I was extremely disappointed that Nova did not get the complete game. But when I read Bryan Hoch's recap and saw that stat, I was able to put things into perspective. The starters have been money, and that is one reason why the Yankees have moved up in the standings, to 2nd place, 1/2 game behind Baltimore.
CC Sabathia tries to continue the streak tonight when he goes up against David Price. I laughed when the YES Network called the matchup "David & Goliath" in their promos. But then I shook my head when I remembered that David beat Goliath. Not such a clever promo after all.
Go, go, Goliath!

Good points. I also like the fact that Rafael Soriano is 8 for 8 in save opportunities. He's getting back to his 2010 form. :)
