John Sterling, the radio voice of the Yankees, can barely do his job in that noise machine, pausing, sometimes in mid-sentence, when the place erupts, spouting violent, ear-splitting noise. Although, Sterling can barely do his job in any ballpark if the slightest bit of noise is made. Ordinarily I can't stand those dramatic pauses of his, but at The Trop, he has my sympathies.
So the Yankees escaped the Noise Palace with a 4-3 victory yesterday. Now it's on to Boston. Hopefully they can make enough noise of their own at Fenway to knock the Red Sox out of contention in the AL East.
Go, Yankees!
