Hey.Opposing Teams At Yankee Stadium: Shut The @#$% Up And Pitch!

Last night's Yankee loss to the Blue Jays left me angry and frustrated. Rafael Soriano picked the worst time to blow a save and Derek Lowe chose the wrong time to forget how to play defense. The team's lead in the AL East is back down to 3 and 1/2 games and it's hard not to worry about the remaining games in this stretch run of the season.

But that's not what this post is about. During the game, I noticed that my fellow baseball blogger William Tasker re-tweeted something that Blue Jays catcher JP Arencibia posted on Twitter. Arencibia, who I guess is on the disabled list, took issue with Nick Swisher's home run, tweeting: "Yankee Stadium where 320ft home runs happen. #Brutal #OutAtRogersCentre."

JP, please. Opposing players, fans and broadcasters have been complaining about the number of home runs the Yankees hit in their home ballpark since it opened in 2009. True, the new Yankee Stadium yields a lot of home runs, but the Yankees aren't the only team allowed to hit there. They let their opponents have at-bats there, too. It's not like the top half of every inning is played at Citi Field.

Teams that come into Yankee Stadium need to get this Yankee Stadium Home Run chip off their shoulders right now. It's old and it's tired. It's time for them all, their pitchers especially, to look in the mirror. They need to just shut the #%&* up and pitch.
