T Minus 6: Yanks Lose, O's Idle

Last night Ivan Nova pitched himself out of the postseason rotation. That is, if there IS a postseason rotation.  The division lead is now down to just 1 game with 6 left to play.

It was Nova's second bad start in a row after the good start he had when he returned from the disabled list. After the game Nova was asked what he thinks he needs to do to fix things. His response was, "I think I'm working on everything possible to pitch good...."

Wow, that's sad. Either he's lying or things are worse than anyone has thought. But, I digress. Nova is out of the postseason rotation (again, if there IS one) so the case is closed. Time to move on.

The Blue Jays will be looking to spoil things this weekend for the Yankees. As for the Red Sox, it's probably asking too much of them to take out the Orioles. After all, almost everyone who experienced the Chicken & Beer Collapse last year is gone. Those who are left could probably care less.

The Yankees care, though, and they'd better show it this weekend.
