ALDS Game 2: Orioles 3, Yankees 2

Last night the Orioles showed why they are where they are. They managed to get a small lead with their starter in the game and then kept that lead with the help of their bullpen. When all was said and done they secured another of their now trademark one-run wins.

They got that win not so much because of Andy Pettitte's pitching. He made just two mistakes, to Chris Davis and Mark Reynolds. Though he disagreed, he pitched well enough to win the game. His offense failed him with performances like these:

* Nick Swisher went 0-4 with 1 strikeout and left 3 men on base.

* Alex Rodriguez went 1-5 with 2 strikeouts and left 3 men on base.

* Team RISP-- 2-8

* LOB-- 10

Alex struck out to end the game. I can't believe how often this scenario becomes a reality. Moments like these always find him. Always!

With the series now moving to the Bronx, the Yankees now have home field advantage. That will not matter, however, it their offense stays anemic. In order to win this series, the Yankees need to take the lead early in games before things are turned over to the Orioles bullpen. Otherwise, they could be facing another first-round exit.

Enjoy the travel day, everyone, and go Yankees!
