Obviously the Yankees have a a lot of work to do this off-season. Expiring contracts, options, and trade possibilities should give Brian Cashman and Company lots to do. I have some ideas about how they should proceed, starting with the outfield. Here's what I would do:
There is a team option on Granderson which I think should be picked up. I've heard the arguments that Granderson should be traded but, for who? I'll take 43 home runs a year any day, as long as he can cut down on his strikeouts.
I believe Ibanez was lightening in a bottle in 2012.
Jones is a no-brainer.
Suzuki and Gardner make a nice tandem but I'd only give Suzuki a one-year deal.
Swisher should jump right into the free agent waters and not look back, because the Yankees need to save their money for Robinson Cano next year. Cody Ross, Johnny Gomes, Angel Pagan and even Melky Cabrera should all be considered instead.
