Lady At The Bat Is Looking For Writers!

The next couple of months are going to be extremely busy for me. Therefore, I have decided to ask for help in keeping this blog updated.

I'm looking for a few women to contribute 1 or 2 posts per week starting around the end of next month and lasting throughout the baseball season. You must be a women because, after all, the name of the blog is Lady At The Bat. I will, however, accept an occasional guest post from a male writer.

Most of the posts you write should be about the Yankees (although some can be about other teams/players if the subject is something really huge). The posts should be about the most recently-played game and/or about any news the team has just made (trade, suspension, injury, arrest, etc.).

For instance, you can post your thoughts about the most recently-played game, or write about something important that happened during the game (one specific player's performance, broken record, fight, ejection, a comment the announcer made, etc.). A simple game recap is not what I'm looking for; there are tons of those all over the internet and anyone who comes to Lady At The Bat has already read a recap elsewhere anyway.

You don't have to be afraid to express your opinion. Feel free to express it, even if it differs from mine!  That being said, it's best to be as objective as possible. I don't mind your Yankee fandom showing but don't be afraid to criticize the team, a player or other personnel if they truly deserve it.

I'm also hoping that whoever agrees to do this is willing to make some preseason predictions: Who will win the AL East, the other divisions, playoffs and World Series? (You might find this difficult. I certainly do, but I always try to do it every year.)

The posts don't have to be long missives, just three paragraphs or so. Also, I would ideally want whatever you're writing about posted within 24 hours of the news breaking or, if you're writing about a game, before the next game starts.

If this sounds like something you want to do please email me a few links to writings you have posted online or, if you have no experience, send me a 200 word writing sample. All info should be sent to

I would like to get several people in place be the end of March so, please let me hear from you by March 15. Thanks!

Update, 3/1/13: Two writers in place, so far. I'd love at least one more. Get in touch with me soon if you're interested!
