Goodbye Football, Hello Spring Training (Hopefully, With No AJ Burnett)

The final down has been played. The Lombardi Trophy has been presented. The trip to Disney World has been set. We can finally say, "Goodbye, football!"

There are now only 12 more days until that wonderful day on the baseball calendar: Pitchers & Catchers.

While I'm excited about seeing those first images of men in pinstripe uniform pants and dark blue workout jerseys, I'm hoping that there's one man I won't see among them:

AJ Burnett.

Why are people even thinking about this? Did I miss something? Is Michael Pineda hurt again?  Has David Phelps been traded?

The AJ Burnett story is over. It has been over since he left the Yankees a few years ago. If Brian Cashman and the rest of the front office doesn't know this, they should all be fired and replaced. It's as simple as that.

So, I'll say it again: Goodbye football. (And, goodbye, AJ.)

Hello, Spring Training!
