The Derek Jeter Gift Meter: Houston Astros

With the first of the formal team farewells taking place last night in Houston, what better time than now to start a new series: The Derek Jeter Gift Meter.

After each team's farewell I will rate the gift(s) presented to Jeter on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being perfect and 1 being absolute garbage. First up, of course, the Houston Astros:

1. Custom cowboy boots, complete with pinstripes, interlocking NY and number "2"

2. White cowboy hat

3. A set of golf clubs

Analysis: Jeter has been known to play a round of gold every now and then so, the golf clubs are a nice practical offering.  The hat, however, looks too plain, while the boots are not plain enough.  Okay, I understand that the boots are probably not meant to actually be worn, but they are rough on the eyes all the same.

Rating: 6

So there you have it.  If I read the schedule correctly, the next presentation should be in Milwaukee, during a weekend series with the Brewers next month. in Anaheim during a mid-week series with the Angels next month.
