Derek Jeter Gift Meter: Kansas City Royals

Last Monday the Yankees played their final 2014 regular season game at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City.  All season long, these final games have been preceded by a ceremony to honor The Captain, Derek Jeter.  All season long, except for last Monday.

The Royals presented Jeter with a nice check for his Turn 2 Foundation.

And, that was it.

Analysis: What's the deal, KC? Why no gift for The Captain? Did you confuse him with Robinson Cano? So far, every other team has stirred its creative juices to come up with what they believe is a unique gift, one that will remind Jeter of their city and/or their region. You came up with nothing, Kansas City, not even a barbecue dinner.

Rating: On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being perfect and 1 being garbage-- 1

Worst rating of the season.

Five more farewells to go.  Whose will be the best of the five? My money is on the New York Yankees.
