Chris Young Keeping Minds of Yankees Fans Off What Is Probably Inevitable

Despite their two consecutive come-from-behind wins against the Tampa Bay Rays, things still look bleak for the New York Yankees.  They start a weekend series in Baltimore today, against an Orioles team who has had their way with New York all season.  With Baltimore's magic number in the single digits, it is entirely possible that they could clinch a playoff spot while the Yankees are on the field at Camden Yards.

Let's not think about any of that right now, however.  Let's take a lesson from Scarlet O'Hara in Gone With The Wind, who said, "I'll think about it tomorrow."  For now, let us focus our attention on something else: Chris Young.

If the Yankees end up going home at the end of this month without sniffing the playoffs, they and their fans will at least be able to look back fondly on the three games this week that Young has played in: 6-11, 7RBI, 2HR, 4R.

What makes Young's performance even better--or amusing, anyway--is that he did it after being a bust for the New York Mets.  It seems to happen every time: a player can't get it done for the Mets but he plays like a Hall of Famer for the Yankees.

Congrats, Chris, and thanks New York Mets!
