Let's face it: Going 6-13 against a division leader just won't cut it. It'll get you close, but you don't get a cigar.
The head-to-head meetings with the Blue Jays are over. The Yankees are now 3.5 games out of first place, with 11 games to play. Yes, it's do-able, but I wouldn't say it's likely.
Those 11 games start with a four-game series against the White Sox and, oh by the way, they get to face Chris Sale in game one tonight. Meanwhile, the Blue Jays have an off-day, before starting a weekend series against the Tampa Bay Rays.
But should I even be mentioning what Toronto has in store for it from here on out? I should be focusing on the Astros, Twins and Angels, right? I should, but it's hard to do.
It's hard to let go of a dream. So I'm not. Even though it's unlikely to come true, I'm going to keep hoping for this dream to become a reality.
