Judge Not Invited To Yankees' Hit Party In Toronto

Isn't it funny how things always seem to work out?

We all wondered how the Yankees could possibly take wunderkind Clint Frazier out of the lineup once Aaron Hicks returned from the DL. But, wonder no more, I guess. After slumping the past week or so, Red Thunder had to be scratched with oblique tightness last night. Just in time, huh? We could see A-A-ron back in the Bronx by the end of the upcoming home-stand.

Meanwhile, Frazier's replacement last night, Garrett Cooper, went 4-5 with two RBIs. He's done very well for himself since joining the Yankees. So much for those "inflated" Pacific Coast League numbers. He has presented himself as a solid backup (or, replacement) for Greg Bird next season.

Cooper wasn't the only one raking last night. With the exception of Aaron Judge, every starter had at least one hit. It was more than enough to support Masahiro Tanaka, whose inconsistency this year we're all sick of.  Perhaps Todd Frazier was sick of it, too. He was definitely sick of his own performance since coming to New York, so much so, that he went 3-4 with a home run. More, please, ToddFather.

Speaking of Judge, well, what else can be said about him? He sucks right now. It looks as if he will never NOT suck again. It's hard not to believe that. However, it's easy not to believe what Michael Kay said about Judge on his radio show yesterday: If Aaron Judge isn't at least 60-75% of what he was in the first half of the season, the Yankees will NOT make the playoffs. At all. That's insane. Did he forget how good Starlin Castro was? Aaron Hicks? Chase Headley early on? What about the improvements to the bullpen? Sonny Gray? I mean, really, calm down, bro.

Rubber game tonight, then back home for the first place Red Sox and everybody's favorite crosstown rivals. Go, Yankees.
