Yankees Lose Game to O's, Ground To Cheaters

You cannot lose a game in that manner. Not at this time of the year. Not when each and every game means so much. You just can't do it. It could cost you.

It did cost the Yankees. If they lose the division by one game they will look back at this game and cringe. But they can't cringe now.

Now, they have to turn the page. Move on. Win the series tonight and get ready for the Rangers this weekend.

That's all there is to say on the matter.

I am not denying that stealing signs is part of the game. People who keep saying that are missing the point: the method of doing so is the issue here. (Also, the fact that the Boston Red Sox lost the season series to the Yankees doesn't give them a pass.) No technology is allowed, yet the Red Sox used an Apple Watch.

According to the New York Times article, Brian Cashman  presented video evidence to MLB about two weeks ago. That was probably shortly after the last series the two teams played at Fenway. Did they also have this mechanism in place at Yankee Stadium two weeks later? People are speculating that it could be the reason Luis Severino was knocked around in his start during that series. I remember him being absolutely lights out the first two innings, then he just fell apart after that. It was all so sudden. Did they wait a couple of innings, to see what he had first?

I guess we'll find out eventually. MLB is still investigating. Whatever the outcome, don't expect anything more than fines and/or the loss of a draft pick. I suppose the Red Sox will fire someone, just to make themselves look good. But that's about it. Then, it's on to the next cheating scandal.
